Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between sublimation ink and DTF ink?

Sublimation ink turns to gas under heat and dyes polyester fibres directly, so it only works on white or light polyester. DTF pigment ink prints onto film and transfers to any fabric colour, including cotton. Choose sublimation for polyester mugs, sportswear and hard-coated blanks.

Which printheads is sublimation ink compatible with?

The sublimation inks stocked here are formulated for Epson printheads, the standard on Indian sublimation printers and converted desktop units. Use dedicated sublimation ink only — mixing ink types or running it in a DTF machine will damage the printhead and void warranty.

What can I print with sublimation ink?

Sublimation works on polyester fabric and polymer-coated hard blanks: mugs, sports t-shirts, mouse pads, phone cases, name plates and photo panels. It will not work on cotton or dark garments — for those, DTF is the correct method. Imprint Solution supplies consumables for both.

How is sublimation ink supplied?

Sublimation ink at Imprint Solution comes in 100gm and 1kg packs as four- and six-colour sets for Epson printheads, and is priced below DTF pigment ink per kilogram. Six-colour sets give a wider gamut for photographic work; four-colour suits general garment and mug printing.
