Frequently Asked Questions
What is sublimation paper used for?
Sublimation paper holds the printed design until it is heat-pressed onto a polyester or polymer-coated blank, where the ink converts to gas and dyes the surface. It is coated to release ink cleanly at high transfer rates. Imprint Solution supplies it in rolls and A3/A4 sheets.
What sublimation paper sizes are available?
Sublimation paper is stocked as rolls, including 24-inch × 60-metre, and as A3 and A4 cut sheets from ₹250. Rolls suit production printing on wide-format machines; sheets suit desktop printers and small runs. Match roll width to your printer’s maximum print width.
Does paper weight (GSM) matter for sublimation?
Yes. Lighter papers dry faster and suit high-speed production, while heavier papers hold more ink and reduce cockling on saturated designs. For most garment and mug work a mid-weight paper balances transfer rate and handling. Ask our team for the grade matched to your printer.
Can I use sublimation paper for DTF printing?
No. Sublimation paper and DTF PET film are different products — sublimation paper releases dye-gas onto polyester, while DTF film carries pigment ink and powder onto any fabric. Using the wrong one will not transfer. If you run both processes, buy each consumable separately; we stock both.
